Reference librarians
Reference librarians are pretty much amazing. They have at least one master's degree (in library and/or information studies: basically a master's degree in how to do research). Often they have another advanced degree in their subject area of expertise. Reference librarians can help develop a research strategy, know where to go to get information, and can teach people how to use library resources. If someone comes to microtext or government documents with a question like, "I have to write a paper about women in early America," I'd recommend sending them to the reference desk to further define their question and come up with a list of sources that might be useful.
Where is reference? They're on the fourth floor, across the bridge. What can they do? AIM reference, email reference, personal research sessions, and more!
