Set Up Your Account, Login Instructions[edit]

To get started for the first time, find the link under Personal Tools that says login/create account. Login using your WFU login/password. This will create an account for you that allows you to create and edit pages.

Linking to External Sites and Files[edit]

You can easily link to external web sites from within your wiki page. The code is illustrated in the table above and again in the screen shot in this section. Use a single opening and closing bracket that contains the complete URL followed by one space and then the text you would like displayed.

In addition, there are some special tags that will allow us to link to images that we take on the trip and store in Flickr. The same can be done if you post trip video clips to your YouTube account (See the code syntax below).

To display Flickr images in your wiki page:

A Final Caution![edit]

When you edit a page in this shared environment, be aware that if you edit a page at the same time someone else is editing it, the last person to hit the SAVE button "wins". Their edits will overwrite anything you have been working on! So communication is very important to making this type of collaboration work. Coordinate with your group members, plan how to set up your pages so that you don't run into each other unintentionally. And have fun!
